My school does not have a separate art teacher which means I provide all art lessons in my classroom. A Cricut Explore Air 2 machine will provide me the ability to give the students more creative art projects to do throughout the school year. Ages of my students in my first grade class ranges from 6-7. Most students at this age are not able to use scissors adequately and precisely so having this machine will make art lessons and projects move smoothly and quickly. For example, this machine would allow me to easily precut many shapes or pieces to art projects that would other wise take myself countless hours after school to cut and prepare for each student. Art provides learners with non-academic benefits such as promoting self-esteem and self-expression. A Cricut machine would also allow me to create fun and engaging bulletin board displays. Bulletin boards makes a classroom more engaging for the students. A Cricut machine would allow me to make larger labels and displays that can help my students locate learned strategies and other tools in the classroom.
