Our students are learning highly transferable, marketable job skills to prepare them for lives of independence. The sOAptopia internship will provide students with skills such as communication with potential customers, customers, and co-workers, money-handling, equipment care, car care, etc. Students will be taking on new responsibilities and learning new skills that can be used for both work and their personal lives. Students will get a lot of practice with these skills that can lead to later jobs off-campus with a local car wash. The transition to a local car wash can lead our students to financial stability and a life of independence. Many of our students have already shown interest in cars and are excited to start this new opportunity The skills and abilities acquired in this internship will push the students to new externships centered around students' interests. A car wash may seem small to many of us, but a car wash can lead to endless opportunities. All of the items listed are essential for the full car wash learning process and will allow the students to have practice with talking with customers, proper money handling, etc.
