The materials I am requesting will help set a cozy ambiance, and Utopian environment conducive to reading for my students. The theme of my room deals with helping my students to grow. The decorations are striped black and white with hot pink and shades of aqua and yellow to give it a pop of various colors. My desire is to provide a reading lounge where my students can sit and read in comfort and freely escape to other worlds as they read. They will enjoy sitting on the futon, and looking at the curtains layered with LED lights. The pillows will accent the futon, and match the pink accent wall in my classroom. Also, the striped rug will match the striped wallpaper in my room. My lessons will deal with visualizing the events in the books, so I want my scholars comfortable and ready to unleash their imaginations. With that being said, my students will participate more in the reading process, thus increasing their comprehension and vocabulary acquisition.
