Many students come to the classroom with preconceived ideas about scientific topics. Biotechnology and genetics are two that are always full of misconceptions. They hear words like genes, mutations, cloning, and it sounds like science fiction. However, when they see how those genes, mutations, and clones are extracted, studied and used for real research topics, those words become less confusing and scary. Having a centrifuge and other equipment in our school laboratory will help them to see and use the same procedures and equipment that are used in real labs, which will also prepare them for a career in biotechnology.

About my class
