The preschool classrooms in our building are adopting a new curriculum called HighScope. The main idea of the HighScope approach is that children construct their own learning by doing and being involved in working with materials, people and ideas. The only way to present more materials is to have more shelving to display said materials. I will also be re-arranging the learning environment to better serve my students and create distinguished areas. This shelf will create the perfect and natural room divider. I plan to put mainly science materials and math manipulatives on this shelf while creating 2 very important centers in my classroom!
