Students love real, colorful pictures! I would love to provide my kiddos a chance to explore Science and Social Studies standards through colorful magazines! Science and Social Studies are often pushed to the wayside in lower level grades, however, it's so important! I am striving to bring Social Studies and Science into lessons throughout the day, squeezing every second I can get. However, resources are always limited, students always have to share the few "on level" reading texts, and they are never allowed to take such nonfiction books home to inspire further learning with the family. Alternatively, Scholastic Magazines incorporates language skills into these beautiful and engaging articles, which they get to explore independently, each have their own! Best of all, they get to take them home to share with family!
