All these materials will provide my students with the opportunity to collaborate, engage, and learn from each other. Collaborative learning works best in an organized classroom that feels like a community so I create lessons, activities, projects, and more in which students are required to work together to achieve the learning objective. I also use binders and notebooks to help students keep their work in a “safe place”. We make posters using large poster paper and markers, play games using post it markers for our ideas, have writing contests, and use artwork to discover how to understand literature and write successful essays. Many students in my room come from low income households and therefore I have always provided all materials necessary for any assignments all year long. These materials and supplies will get used daily and each year I replenish my stash. I’m asking for a little help this year since unfortunately, I wasn’t in my classroom the last few months of the school year and I had substitutes overuse my materials. I’m starting from scratch in terms of many of these materials. Any and all help is appreciated. I love doing my job to get students to learn to enjoy reading and writing and working together in our community.
