The social emotional books purchased will be used with my students at the beginning of the year,as well as throughout the year as needed. These books are a fun way to learn about how to manage emotions, and they can be referred back to throughout the year. Students will connect with these stories, laugh, and have fun all while learning social emotional skills. These are stories students can connect with, and they are able to use the skills taught in their own lives. The "Who Was?" books purchased will be used to teach my students about well-known people and the lives they lived. Students will create a biography project about the person they researched. Not only will this project focus on history, but it will also focus on literacy and will teach my students how to use these easy-to-read chapter books in their research! The pencil sharpener would be a huge blessing. Both of the pencil sharpeners in my classroom are broken. Students are either having to borrow pencils from another student or wait until I can get down to the office to sharpen the pencils. A new sharpener would take the stress off of the students when their pencil breaks, and they are frantically searching for a new one.
