Within my class students often cut out models and then must color them accordingly. After cutting out the models they paste them on a separate sheet of construction paper. The best of the best get laminated and hung outside in the hallway and the classroom. This creates pride in the students and also shows others the standard of work they are held to. We currently have a guinea pig, a rabbit, and a hamster in my classroom as class pets. Because I teach agriculture it helps them relate terms and ideas to a real life animal. Cleaning, feeding, and watering the animals every morning also teaches children responsibility.
