The increase in my class size this year has forced me to use my instructional table for some of my students' desks. Therefore, my Kindergarten classroom is in desperate need for a new table! My students need to move around to different parts of the room as they learn throughout the day. Sometimes they are at their desks, sometimes they are on the floor, and sometimes they are working in small groups at a table. Each day, I teach at least two small groups (4-6 students) for guided reading and two small groups for writing. A horseshoe shaped table will allow me to teach my small groups more effectively than rectangular/circular shaped tables because I can work with each student one-on-one as they read and write.
