It is my goal to engage my students while encouraging their love of reading. This can be a challenging feat making novel choice key to their learning. Like sneaking veggies into their food, it is most important to first get students interested in the content to then teach them the tools they need to succeed academically. The novel "Where the Crawdads Sing" encompasses a great many skills that students need as a part of their literature study while including a coming of age, murder mystery that will do exactly that. I am so excited to begin this new year with my students. I am working to do everything I can to meet them where they are so that I can best prepare them for both their academic and professional futures.
