Since I am a brand new teacher, it is up to me to build my classroom and find a way to get all the materials needed for my kids as public school teachers are given a very small or nonexistent budget. All the items requested here are pertinent to delivering Mathematics, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies instruction to my students on a daily basis. Because I will be teaching at a low income school, and there are limited funds, I will be teaching all subjects including PE, art and science. Since we have no art time or curriculum, I am hoping to integrate art into math, writing, science, etc. The possibilities with these colored markers and pencils are endless. I also will provide students free time to draw, create and tinker because all kids need creative time! There are no desk cubbies or storage built into my classroom but the White magazine files can easily store each students' math, reading and writing notebooks and classwork for the entire year. The storage bins I requested would be great in terms of storing materials and supplies that my students could easily access.
