Students will use these hands-on materials to help them solve problems and become successful mathematicians during small group math time. These materials will help them show how they chose to solve the problem and give them a visual when explaining their thoughts to other classmates. Students will also use these materials to become successful writers during their word work center and writing center for Daily 5. They will also use these materials to create small group collaborative projects. We are working towards becoming an IB (International Baccalaureate) school this year! They will use these materials to master the following goals: NC.1.NBT.2...Understand that the two digits of a two-digit number represent amounts of tens and ones. RL.1.3...Describe characters, settings, and major events in a story, using key details. These materials will help my students and school in many ways! Thank you so much for your help!
