In the middle of last school year, I transitioned our classroom into a workshop-style classroom. The way it will be reorganized with flexible seating will increase our ability to teach and my students' ability to learn. Students will be allowed a choice in deciding where they learn best. They will be given more opportunities to collaborate with each other and with teachers. I want my students to be proud of where they learn, of where they go to school. A room that looks like the room I'm trying to piece together will be a space FOR them. There are too many components of a student's education that they have no control over. Having a classroom specifically designed with their learning in mind will help them take ownership of their education.

About my class
