Third graders from two classes will benefit from whole group instruction as they sit comfortably on a new, inviting rug. They will experience a feeling of community as we gather to discuss topics that are relevant to their lives, sing catchy math songs, watch videos, and work together to solve problems or play games. As an energetic teacher who values differentiation in both my teaching style and students' learning styles, I strive to work with small groups with specific instructional needs daily. A portable whiteboard/anchor chart stand will be used daily in both whole group and small group instruction. Visuals are crucial for understanding foundational math skills and I love to make anchor charts with my students so they can refer to an illustration, vocabulary word, example etc. as they work independently. Also, a portable whiteboard would be perfect to move effortlessly to a small group to re-teach or work on specific skills. The students love to "be the teacher" too, and this would be a great tool to increase student engagement. I'm moving to a new classroom this year and there isn't a whiteboard, and the rug is outdated. These materials would be much appreciated and used daily for many years to come! Thank you so much for your support!!!
