Flexible seating will contribute to the sensory friendly classroom that I aspire to create. I would love to give my students the opportunity to try out different methods to help them better access their education. My students are all such unique learners, coming from different classrooms with different needs. Supporting this flexible seating project means my students can explore sensory options to help them learn in speech-language therapy. They can wiggle while they work on naming common objects and actions. My students can bounce while they practice producing their /r/ sound in sentences. They can cool down on the floor with an over-sized, soft pillow after a challenging transition from the classroom to the speech room. Flexible seating will provide so many more options for my students than we currently have. I can't wait to see how this project not only allows them to try new things, but enhances their learning and growth.
