Flexible seating allows students to take control of their learning environment and helps students make a choice that works best for them! During independent work times, they choose a location in the classroom that they feel the most comfortable in. Currently, my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, sitting under the counter with clipboards, or sitting or laying on the floor. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk. My students are always excited and engaged when they are allowed to sit around the room. The products I have chosen will give my students better flexible seating options during class. The comfy floor seats will allow for additional comfortable floor seating options. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom. I have also added additional products that will enhance our classroom. The document camera will help students follow along as I go over worksheets and notes. This year my students have loved doing experiments and activities in science class. Having a class set of Snap Circuits will allow every group to work on the Snap Circuits throughout the Electricity unit. I have seen how choice and hands-on activities can positively affect my students' work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
