My students struggle with fine motor skills and using keyboards can be a struggle for them. We are requesting four iPads which will allow my students to build confidence and skills with technology independently. Each day we try and incorporate computer time in the classroom for programs such as RAZ-Kids and abcya that allow students to work at their own reading levels. The trouble is a lot of students struggle with manipulating the keyboards and touch screen would be so much easier for them. A lot of them are in occupational therapy and need assistive technology to be successful with everyday tasks. Having these iPads would not only help their academics but also give them the confidence they need to be successful in this world full of technology.
