Mobile whiteboards allow students to collaborate and discuss mathematics concepts. They will learn to be critical thinkers and effective communicators. From basic rational number computation to intricate problem-solving tasks, students will participate in flexible grouping and interactive, inquiry-based learning. Being able to move around the classroom and have appropriate conversations minimizes behavior issues and helps students remain engaged. My students will use the boards and supplies for error analysis, for example, and use higher level thinking skills. They will be presented will specific computation or problem-solving activities related to rational numbers, statistics and probability, geometry, and proportional relationships. Multiple students will be able to access the boards, which provides valuable information to me, as the teacher, so I can adjust lessons as needed. Students will also participate in collaborative assessments periodically. Using the whiteboards will allow for group problem-solving making it easier for all group members to participate.
