Using Bloom's Taxonomy and reading comprehension strategies, students will describe the characters, setting, and important events of the novel they have read. Then, they will analyze, evaluate and create another important event for the book to predict what the characters will do if a disaster were to befall the main character in the novel. This project is designed to be completed as a group project where each student completes a graphic organizer after reading the same novel and shares ideas at their round table so that effective brainstorming occurs. Then, using Blooms Taxonomy comprehension cards, students write to describe what the characters would say and illustrate the experiences. Students will check each other's work to make sure they have provided evidence from the text to prove their analysis as to why they have selected their responses. In doing so, they will discover various citations or examples the author gives to show why they selected their response to the question. This is why students who work together in small group settings benefit instructionally.
