Access to supplies leads to the success of all students. Whether it be pencils and being able to sharpen them or having dry erase markers to participate in activities, students need supplies to complete their work both in and out of the classroom. Along with supplies, my students need flexible seating in order to take charge of their learning and make independent decisions. During work time, students can choose a seat with a band on it to keep them on task. Currently, my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room, such as the the kidney table, sitting on the ground, or at yoga ball chairs. Making sure students are comfortable and engaged is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed astonishing results in my students' behavior when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, stay on task, and get more work finished than when they are sitting at their tables. The products I have selected will help my students by giving them supplies to use both in and out of the class. In addition, flexible seating options will be provided so that my students can make more effective and independent learning choices. Having access to supplies will make a huge impact on myself, my students, and even their parents. Imagine not having to worry about making sure your children have everything they need to get a quality education. Students will have access to what they need in order to do everything in class. They will have the seating options in order to focus and make their own decisions. By donating to our project, not only will you help increase student interaction, you will ultimately help to increase their academic success.
