Most of our students are struggling readers due to many different reasons. Some reasons are developmentally, while others are non exposure or no motivation. We would like our students to have access to books throughout the day. The books we choose are cross curriculum books. We would also want students to be able to check books out so that they can read them at home. This year we plan to implement a book club. Book club goes beyond the traditional book report. Book club allows students to bring their favorite book or chapter of a book to light. Students can wear costumes and do an reenactment. Your support will allow us to bring literacy to life in our classroom.
