Flexible seating will benefit all the students in my classroom this year and for years to come. Kindergarten students love to move! Offering students choices of seating materials will allow them to bounce, wiggle, fidget, and still be actively engaged in learning. This type of movement will help students focus and learn. This type of seating will give students ways to calm themselves by meeting their sensory needs. It also allows for students to work collaboratively in groups that can be easily moved or changed anywhere in the classroom. It also gives students choice in their learning which is motivational and teaches them to work together and take turns. When students choose their seating option they are picking a way that makes them most comfortable and ready to learn.
