Help my children enhance their speech, language and vocabulary skills by donating materials that are motivational and provide opportunities to build language and early literacy skills. Interactive play manipulatives will help improve and increase student attention and focus by providing hands-on learning activities while meeting the individual needs of each child. Story telling kits with interactive manipulatives will help provide children opportunities to increase targeted goals such as receptive and expressive vocabulary, word recall, story retelling, sequencing, spatial relationship skills, pronouns, sentence formulation, answer various "wh" questions, following directions, turn taking, conversational turn taking and topic maintenance. The story rhyming kit, literacy flash card set, Pop For Word Families and Big Box of Sentence Building enhance foundational phonological awareness skills. Other specialty toys such as the Melissa and Doug Sandwich Making and Slice and Bake Cookie sets, along with the ramp tower, counting cones, shape sorter, geometric shape stacker and Hungry Pelican will be used as motivational reinforcement in order to elicit specific targeted responses from young children while continuing to develop several of the above mentioned targeted goals during incidental teaching activities. The story telling sets and motivational materials will help to provide services not only for the children on my caseload but also will be utilized by other speech language pathologists throughout the county.
