I teach in an all girls school in downtown Brooklyn. The population at my school is predominantly African American, and around 80% of my students live below the poverty line, in New York City. The mission of my school is to empower these young women, so they can succeed in the fields of mathematics and science, where women, especially of color, are traditionally underrepresented. I teach global history, and hope to infuse my classroom with resources and technology that will allow these young women to realize their potential.

About my class
