I've just returned from the Get Your Teach On National Conference and I'm ready to implement all the new things I've learned. My theme this year is a "classroom party" because education should be FUN! I'd like to start by making over my classroom with some new items to help create a welcoming, friendly, and working atmosphere. The table, stools, and benches will provide flexible seating options so students can choose where to sit according to their learning style. For example, some students might be more comfortable standing, and others might prefer to work seated. These items will help me meet the recent trend to provide flexible seating. Students will also be able to gather together easily for partner and group projects as well as all together at the rug for whole group time. The tech stand, crates, and Sterilite drawers will make organizing all our classroom materials a breeze. My goal is for my students to feel safe and loved in our classroom, so they are ready to work hard and learn. I can't wait to meet my new class!
