Flexible seating choices are optimal for collaborative work between partners, small literacy groups, ESL groups, and for shared work on projects. Also, a certain type of seat, such as a wobble chair, will help an individual student focus on their task while in motion. A bean bag seat is ideal as an option when a student deserves a special comfy seat for a quiet activity or just needs to calm him or herself during a the day. I strive to lessen the need for assigned seats and teach students to make good choices for increased learning and engagement while on task.
