My ultimate goal is to instill a love of learning in my students through offering experiences that are student-centered and research based. These opportunities will afford my students the ability to collaborate, innovate, and explore a variety of materials that they may not have access to outside of the classroom. It is imperative that I provide opportunities that require my students to problem solve, think critically, create, analyze, and design. With these manipulatives, I can offer my students the stimulation they need in order to fuel success across a variety of tasks and disciplines. I teach and serve a community of young children who may not reach their full developmental potential because they suffer from the negative consequences of their socioeconomic status, including poverty, nutritional deficiencies, and inadequate learning opportunities. Through the purchase of these eight sets of diverse manipulatives, I will be able to provide the best learning opportunities for my students so their socioeconomic demographic does not set the foundation of their educational experiences or determine their future success in later grades. These manipulatives will allow my students to not only problem solve, think critically, create, analyze, and design, but they will also allow my students to demonstrate the development of coordination and fine motor strength and dexterity.
