My class mission this year is to make science come to life! I want to give my students the opportunity to explore, experiment, think, and apply the Scientific Method in a variety of ways. These supplies will help transform my classroom into a young scientists dream! Many of my students come to me and do not know what a microscope does, what owls eat, or that our planet is a giant magnet! I do not want my students to just learn these topics....I want them to be IMMERSED in it! I want to create an environment where we think together, plan together, and explore together as I incorporate these tools into our scientific learning. We will use these tools to get up close to the world around us. I can already see my students faces light up when they get to observe plants and insects up close with a microscope! They will also get to use the owl pellets as an extension to our study of food chains! They will get to dissect and identify the parts of an owl pellet and have discussions related to animal chains. The magnets will be a hands on way for kids to explore magnetism and apply the Scientific Method. Thank you for considering my 3rd grade class project! It means a lot to me and my 3rd graders!
