I am so excited to be implementing my first flexible seating project next year. The idea of the "flexible classroom" is something I have been researching and implementing in small baby steps over the past 3 years. These flexible classrooms give students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them. Some examples of flexible seating are: working at a traditional desk, standing up, sitting on the floor or a seat that moves and wiggles with them. This type of classroom environment helps learners to work collaboratively, communicate needs and wants, and take responsibility for their learning. My project specifically focuses on higher cost nontraditional seating options. By creating a flexible classroom, students will be more engaged and empowered in their daily learning!
