With great excitement I am spending my summer 'off' planning for my first year of teaching. With this said, my closets are bare and my options are meager. With your support, together we will help to improve the lives of the young children who are in my kindergarten class as they learn to love school and feel welcomed in a classroom prepared especially for them. During an engaging lesson with learning targets clearly posted and discussed, students will be able to sit comfortably on the donated rug. With this resource, they will be able to carry out discussing with their peers knee-to-knee while seated on the floor. Partner talk is a huge part of kindergartners learning habits. In most lessons, I make it a goal to have students teach each other, while I guide them to their learning goals. With the supplies, students will be able to be more engaged in learning through choice seating. Additionally, students will benefit from your generosity directly because of materials that will make for smooth lesson execution. There are also several culturally inclusive books needed that will help to represent all races and cultures through literacy, helping students relate to characters they are reading about. In my wish list,​ you will find the compilation of many essential items for my success as a teacher, and gifts of these items will increase my ability to create lifelong learners who will help to solve problems, magnify kindness, and breakdown borders.
