Our goal is to promote independent thinking, creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication skills through self-guided exploration of concepts related to science, technology, engineering, art/music, and math. With this STEAM cart, all first grade students in our school will benefit from hands-on brains-on learning. Each week, students will employ the engineer design process to tackle real-world challenges and propose, design, test and evaluate their solutions to the challenges. They will be encouraged to work both independently and collaboratively within their classroom and school community. Students will practice effective communication skills by presenting their ideas to the school community at large.
