Flexible seating will provide multiple seating arrangements for my first-grade class during small group instruction. Students that are the ages of 6 and 7 years old have trouble sitting in a regular desk for long periods of time. Different seating arrangements will allow for more movement within my classroom during small group instruction. It will also help minimize distractions and outbursts of behavior from students who learn through movement. We can use flexible seating for the ​technology center, writing center, and listening center. The carpet will be a comfortable place to sit and read a book with a partner for buddy reading.
