My goal is to expose my students to as many different genres as possible within their reading levels, in order to spark a love of reading in each and every child. My classroom is in dire need of a library. The books will be safely housed on a bookshelf in my classroom for students to check out and read in the classroom for pleasure, as well as for book reports and other class projects. With such a diverse group of students, I need a variety of books for them to choose from, and each of these books I have chosen with my third graders' interests in mind. I will also use these books to read aloud to the class, as well as to model writing and to teach reading strategies.
