The selected reading materials will greatly impact my students' reading habits. While selecting the books, I took into consideration students' interests, reading proficiency, suggestions from my own children (avid readers), reading specialist and librarians, as well as current trends in young adults literature. These materials will allow me to differentiate reading instruction to meet the needs of my diverse students; they will allow me to emerge my students in a rich learning environment, and to promote literacy for all. My goal is to turn my reluctant readers into avid readers. All it takes is to find that ONE perfect book.

About my class
