My students and I are implementing a workshop format for math, reading and writing this year. This method of teaching creates a student centered classroom. They are given the opportunity to do critical thinking, use skills and strategies they have learned right away, while learning to enjoy writing, math and reading as it applies to real world situations!! Students are reading books of their choice and writing about things in their lives that they choose!! I am so excited to introduce this hands on way of learning!! It is so valuable for students as they grow and become more independent in their learning!
