My students have the following delays: one down syndrome, 3 autistic, one of whom is legally blind and has difficulty with fine motor skills, one Aspberger's Syndrome, one other health impaired (he only has the use of one arm)and 2 that are developmentally delayed and non-verbal. The students attend a Title I Mission possible school-which means that 90% of the students live in low socio-economic environments and thus qualify for free or reduced lunch in school. The school has very limited funding and resources. Because of this, the students don't have everything they need to be successful in school. I love my children very much and do all that I can to ensure a productive and fun school year, but I am just not able to put in my classroom all the materials that they need. In spite of all of the challenges my students face, they are some of the most loving, caring, and inspiring people that I know. They always come in with a smile and an eagerness to learn.
