As a special education teacher, I need to find new ways to reach students. Students with learning disabilities, most often do not learn the "traditional" way, and so, with the use of technology, students may be able to better understand the material. Technology could help my students-- who struggle to understand concepts--learn and succeed. Using technology to engage students and invite them into a lesson will help them succeed! In a world that is full of technology, students seem to be more comfortable with a tablet or computer than they are with a pencil and paper, so why not use that to our advantage in the classroom? Using technology to make students more comfortable in the classroom will help them learn! Students will use tablets during small group time to enhance their learning in math and reading. Using apps like prodigy and reflex math to continue growing their skills while not working one on one with me. Becoming familiar with technology at an early age will help them succeed in the world once they graduate.
