Being from a small, rural area, students I teach are not always awarded the same opportunities as students from different cities or states. However, with the right exposure and motivation, these students can still be successful! Many students have never left their home state of Mississippi- some have traveled no further than the eighty miles to the nearest mall. Because of this, many are not aware of how big the world around them is, nor are they accustomed to the technological demands that will meet them once they graduate. If my classes receive an iPad, I will be able to help them see the world around them. I will easily be able to pair the iPad with my Apple TV, making assignments and other online activities easily accessible. My students also do projects where they work together as a group and perform their ideas (spoken word, dramas, songs, etc). An iPad would allow my students to be recorded and view their performances instantaneously.
