The products I have selected provide my students with a variety of flexible seating options that they will have the choice to utilize during the day. During independent reading and writing time, students can choose to sit at their table with regular chairs that have resistance bands for bouncing their feet, stools that boost them a little higher, or even an exercise ball to keep their muscles loose and relaxed. Not only will these materials be used during independent learning time, but during small group and whole group work when students need to be seated but engaged! My students will be noticeably more engaged, enthused, and excited about learning when they have the choice of where to sit and how to work. When students spend an average of 5-6 hours sitting in a chair, they begin to lose focus, get fidgety, lose interest, become irritable, and distract other students. Having several flexible seating options available for my students will allow them to be comfortable and fully engaged at any point during the school day.
