As I am thinking of how to better my classroom for the next set of students, I would like to create a learning environment that allows all students to be successful. This is my dream list for flexible seating options, as well as other items to make the room feel more welcoming to students. Last school year, my students struggled with sitting in a chair and desk, they needed more movement and would often have behaviors because the classroom furniture did not fit their individual learning needs. In efforts to create the best environment possible, I would like to introduce flexible seating to allow students to sit in different ways and better be able to focus during the school day. Flexible seating would give my students empowerment to choose where they will sit, allow them to be more focused during lessons, and reduce classroom anxiety.
