One-on-one technology can completely transform learning in a classroom setting. When I have had the chance to use online learning resources with my students, such as Kahoot!, Edulastic, ReadWorks, Quizlet, and CommonLit, I have seen student engagement, excitement, and student-centered learning increase drastically. The opportunity to have Chromebooks in my classroom excites me as their English teacher because I know the impact it will have on my students' lives. With the lack of technology available, it is difficult to provide sufficient learning in a classroom of 30 students, who all have different learning needs. Each year, I have students who come in to my classroom with different barriers. By incorporating student Chromebooks, I will be able to differentiate my lessons to meet each student's individualized needs. It also gives students access to research and information in a new and powerful way. Arizona state testing is computer-based, so computer assessments in the classroom are vital to getting students comfortable and confident with technology and computer-based questions. Additionally, student Chromebooks will give my students the opportunity to learn how to use the internet in a responsible and smart way. My students deserve the absolute best, and I believe that in having daily access to student Chromebooks in the classroom, their education will flourish. Technology can transform a classroom, and it is time to transform our room with technology!
