Teaching place value to my students is important because it helps them understand the meaning of a number. My students need to master place value in order to understand the order of numbers. I will use the Giant Magnetic Regrouping Chart to help my students better understand addition and subtraction. It will also be a great visual aide to help explain to my students how to regroup when adding two-digit numbers. The place value coins in ones, tens and hundreds will help my students have a better understanding of regrouping. The Ten-Frame Hands-On Teaching Kit can be used for a variety of addition and subtraction problems. It will help my students practice grouping, adding to 20 and skip-counting.
