The majority of my list is to build my reading library in my classroom with authentic and meaningful texts. I am a first year teacher and I am so excited to use meaningful texts in my lessons. I chose a variety of books that build upon various character traits such as building self esteem, being kind, taking care of our planet, civil rights history, and so much more! I can't wait to build the foundation for these students' future! The other items are things I chose to fill in gaps in my classroom such as a command strips to decorate with anchor charts, building blocks to enrich math and science, and a money set to physically grasp financial concepts.
