All of my students have special needs, primarily in the area of math. We are requesting an iPad, math flash cards and math activities and the Osmo Pizza Co game. These hands-on, innovative activities will not only help my students with math, but also teach them to enjoy math while collaborating with peers, something else most of them struggle with! Technology is all around us, so why not use it to learn! The tools I selected for my classroom are proven to increase retention and support quicker grasping of concepts while using outside-the-box thinking. Being able to work with others is another skill we all need, but don't commonly think about as a primary skill in learning. The activities I have chosen support collaboration and team work, building relationships in the classroom.
