I teach students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. They attend a School for the Deaf which specializes in meeting the specific needs of the students. The students are all one-of-a-kind, and teaching them is a joy. They come to school excited and highly motivated to learn. My students are not only communicating using ASL (American Sign Language), but they must also learn English in order to read and write. These students are sponges and are desperately seeking more information! Keeping learning fun and exciting for them requires keeping up with the times, and constantly adapting methods and approaches. There is never a dull moment in the life of a teacher!
