I want to build up my classroom library with the Sunshine State Young Reader Award books. These books are wonderful and can inspire students to read more. Many students can relate to the themes and characters in these books. At our school, the media specialist holds a contest each year. Students who read at least 3 books get to vote on their favorite. Students who read all 15 get a special prize. I hope to help my students achieve the goal of reading at least 3 Sunshine State books this school year. I would also like to do small literature circles with my students using the Sunshine State Readers.
