Sitting at a hard wooden desk for 7+ hours a day takes a toll on learning believe it or not. I want you to think about when you were in school, it is around 10:30 in the morning and you're already halfway asleep because you haven't been able to get up from the wooden desk yet. You are becoming restless and are ready to get out of your seat. Providing my students flexible seating allows them to move around and refocus their brains on the learning opportunities. Children need different types of stimulation to focus 100% on the topic being taught. Many students are handed endless worksheets throughout the day because it is the "easiest" way of teaching. Although that is beneficial to our reading/writing learners, what about our kinesthetic learners or the visual learners? Helping me to provide simple materials such as cubic blocks or basic word problem games to my students allows me to help each learning style in my classroom
