Though I have not met my students yet, I have already been planning on how to make this the best year for them. All of the supplies that I have requested will help me ensure that my students have a wonderful environment that they will come to every day. I know that your first year teaching is the hardest (roughly), so my overarching goal is to instill a love of school in my students. I have chosen an engaging rug so that my students will have a place for whole group meetings. I have chosen the colored whiteboard dots to help with small group instruction with the teacher. I think that these would be engaging and helpful when having small groups. The next idea that I have requested is book bins for the students. I want to give each student a bin where they can keep their books. I am hoping that giving them their own space can help them love to read. By donating to our project, you will help me set up a classroom that will engage my students and make a space for them that is welcoming and warm.
