Brain Bins are morning tubs that are used in the classroom to boost creativity, encourage critical thinking and promote problem-solving. PreK students need unstructured inquiry, imaginative play, and an opportunity to develop social competency. “Brain Bins” include open-ended materials that students use to explore, create, and build. Brain Bins foster creativity, imagination, oral language, social skills, critical thinking, vocabulary, problem-solving, and curiosity in as little as 10-15 minutes each morning. Students of all levels get to begin their day on a happy note! As teachers, we like to ease into our day with a cup of coffee and chatting with our colleagues in the office or at the copier. Using Magna-Tiles and other building materials, these Brain Bins help students transition from home to school in the same manner while learning through play.
